XSaver (“we”, “us”) is a web tool that helps you download video/audio from X (formerly Twitter) by
fetching publicly available media information and proxying a stream to your device. We built XSaver with
a “privacy-first” mindset: no accounts, no logins, and no need for your X credentials.
1. Information we collect
-
Link you submit: When you paste an X/Twitter URL, we receive it to extract
the tweet ID and retrieve media metadata.
-
Technical request data: Like most services, our hosting environment may log
basic request data (IP address, user-agent, timestamps, and requested endpoints) for security and
troubleshooting.
-
Local preferences: Your language selection is stored in your browser
(localStorage).
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account, password, or email to use XSaver.
- We do not ask for your X/Twitter username or password.
- We do not intentionally store your downloaded video/audio files on our server.
3. How we use information
- To fetch tweet/video metadata and available MP4 variants.
-
To deliver a proxy stream of the requested media to you and, if you choose
“audio”, to convert the stream to MP3 on the fly.
- To protect the service from abuse and keep it stable (e.g., security monitoring,
debugging).
4. Caching & retention
To improve performance and reduce repeated requests to X/Twitter, XSaver may temporarily cache non-personal
video metadata (e.g., title/thumbnail/variant URLs) in memory for a short period (for example ~15 minutes).
Server logs (if enabled) may be retained for a limited period for operational and security reasons.
5. Third-party services
-
X/Twitter & CDNs: XSaver sends requests to X/Twitter services and their CDNs
to fetch publicly available media.
-
CDN assets: Our pages may load fonts and UI assets from third-party CDNs
(e.g., Google Fonts, Tailwind CDN). Those providers may receive standard web request metadata when
your browser loads those resources.
6. Cookies
XSaver does not require cookies to function. If you add analytics/ads later, this policy should be updated
to reflect that.
7. PWA / Service Worker
XSaver may register a Service Worker to cache static assets for performance and app-like installation.
This cache is stored on your device and can be cleared via your browser settings.
8. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to download or use any content. XSaver is intended for
publicly available content and does not guarantee access to private or restricted media.
